Breakfast with Senator Coleman Rescheduled for January 9

Reserve the morning of Wednesday, January 9 to attend TwinWest's rescheduled breakfast event with U.S. Senator Norm Coleman. This is your chance to hear from the senator about the status of legislation on important issues like health care reform, transportation, and immigration. February 12: Attend the Minnesota Chamber's Annual Session Priorities Dinner

All TwinWest members are invited to attend the Minnesota Chamber's Session Priorities Dinner, the premier kickoff to the 2008 legislative session.
 
On Tuesday, February 12, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m., more than 1,500 business leaders from across the state will gather to talk with public policymakers. Governor Pawlenty will give a keynote address, and the leaders of the four caucuses will discuss their plans for the session.
 
This high-profile event forecasts the key issues for the 2008 session and gives you a chance to meet with other business leaders and legislators.

City and School District News
St. Louis Park:
  • Sun Newspapers has put together a great recap of economic development activity in St. Louis Park. Read the Sun Newspapers coverage.
  • The city has officially stopped work on implementing a citywide wireless Internet project. Get more information at St. Louis Park's Web site.
Robbinsdale School District:
  • Robbinsdale Area Schools officials have outlined plans to cut $5 million from the school district's budget. Read a detailed Sun Newspapers description of the plan here.

Wayzata School District:

  • Wayzata High School needs business professionals, parents, and members of the community to serve as judges for its upcoming DECA competition events. DECA is an international student organization with a mission of enhancing the cocurricular education of students with interests in business, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. One of the highlights in the DECA program is the unique real world role-playing competition provided for students at the state and national level. These competitions allow students to compete in everyday situations in the fields of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Wayzata High School's local conference is scheduled for Sunday, January 27 and Monday, January 28 at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest.
