Hennepin County

Hennepin County was incorporated in 1852. Its largest city is Minneapolis, the county seat. Hennepin has the largest population of Minnesota's 87 counties with about 22 percent of the state's estimated 2002 population and ranks 15th in the nation in population. It has the highest average household income in the state and a broad-based economy with strong trade, service, and manufacturing sectors. Employment is relatively stable, and the unemployment rate is consistently below the state and national averages.

“In order to realize business relationships within the Chamber, you have to get involved. TwinWest makes it easy by providing lots of different opportunities; every week you can find something to do. I’ve served on many different committees, and through that involvement, I got to know Shane Dols and Tom Morris at Berger Transfer and Storage. Now, Berger is offering AFLAC insurance to its employees in all 16 of its nationwide locations. People do business with people they’re more familiar with. I credit my TwinWest involvement for paving the way for this new partnership.”
