capitolsmallFor over 30 years, TwinWest has served as an advocate for jobs and the growth of the business sector.  We recognize that strong schools, effective government services, and vibrant communities depend on the success of businesses.

TwinWest's Government Affairs Committee sets policy for the Chamber and oversees our lobbying operations. This vital committee meeting that the third Wednesday of each month, August through May. All member are welcome to attend.

In addition, TwinWest works to make interfacing with government straight-forward. TwinWest provides resources for connecting to government officials and understanding the issues in city council chambers, county offices, the State Capitol, and in Washington, DC.

At TwinWest, we value the views of business leaders and produce a monthly business ballot on various issues. Below are the June 2010 Business Ballot results from the Legislative Breakfast on June 11, 2010.

Do you think the 2010 Legislative Session was a success?

11% - Yes, the Legislature and the Governor accomplished what they needed to this session to balance the budget and address core issues that face the state.

89% - No, while the budget was balanced, structural changes to the state’s budgeting practices were not made and it is projected that the state will face a projected $5.8 billion shortfall in the next biennium, making budgetary solutions even more difficult in the 2011 session.
