The TwinWest Chamber of Commerce relies upon the generous volunteers who chair or co-chair committees, and many other TwinWest members to comprise our committee rosters, for the execution of TwinWest events and programs. Our current TwinWest committee chairs are listed below.

Ambassador Committee

An active and fun group, this committee is perfect for any member! The Ambassadors serve as goodwill representatives of the Cham-ber and are out and about attending as many events as possible. Duties include welcoming new members, helping businesses connect and attending new member site visits and ribbon cutting celebrations.

Business Education Partnership

TwinWest Chamber of Commerce partners with five school districts each year to provide a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Summit each year for middle school students. The initiative helps direct students toward careers that will be in demand in the future. The BEP also assists partner districts by providing speakers for classrooms, mentors and other types of assistance as request-ed. Student that attend schools within our partner districts are eligible for scholarships provided through the TwinWest Foundation each year.

TwinWest’s annual Golf Classic is a networking event and fundraiser held in August. Proceeds support Chamber programming and initi-atives. Golfers can attend alone and be placed in a foursome to meet new business contacts, or arrange their own group of coworkers, clients or friends for an afternoon of fun on the greens. The event concludes with a dinner reception and awards. Members and non-members are welcome to attend! Attending our Golf Classic is a good way to support the next generation of business and community leaders. Proceeds from the event's raffle will go to the TwinWest Foundation, which provides scholarships to local high school students and adult learners.

Grow Minnesota! Task Force

TwinWest is an active participant in Grow Minnesota!, a private-sector effort to retain and expand the state’s business base. The prima-ry focus of the program is to retain Minnesota businesses and encourage them to expand and grow within the state. Grow Minnesota! is a collaboration between the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Develop-ment, and 45 chambers statewide. Each year, TwinWest staff and volunteers conduct face-to-face visits with 40-50 targeted businesses in our region to encourage them to remain and expand in Minnesota. During these visits, TwinWest listens to employers’ concerns and opinions, helps them solve problems, and gathers valuable input to shape our legislative agenda.

This lively group began with young professionals but is open to any members looking to gain skills through leadership, networking, edu-cation, and philanthropy. Leadership Council provides an excellent opportunity to exchange strategies, build relationships, and increase your business knowledge. Events include a variety of speakers including community leaders and CEOs from local businesses.

Plymouth Business Council

Power Partners

Power Partners is a networking program that helps members exchange business leads, provides business advice and builds relation-ships. Groups of about 12 – 15 non-competing TwinWest members meet to develop professional networking relationships and ex-change business referrals.
Program Details:
  •  Groups meet bimonthly at a designated location or at TwinWest - Participants responsible for own meals if needed - Group leaders are elected by the group - $75/year nonrefundable registration fee - Members are expected to attend at least 90% of the scheduled meetings.
  •  A qualified referral is the process of one Power Partners member informing another Power Partners member that he/she has been referred to a prospective client, and a follow up call or visit is expected by that prospective client.
  •  Participants must be TwinWest members in good standing. This group is self directed and as such makes its own decisions on group participants. Completing the online application does not automatically

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee assists the Foundation Board with choosing scholarship winners each year. Duties include: reviewing schol-arship applications, conducting group interviews with applicants, and providing input through a scoring system.

Small Business Awards Luncheon Planning Committee

At this event, TwinWest honors the entrepreneurial spirit of its membership in awarding an Entrepreneur and Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year. This event also features an exciting speaker and recognizes the TwinWest Foundation Scholarship winners.
