The city of Medicine Lake lies tucked inside Plymouth on the large peninsula jutting into Medicine Lake, the second largest lake in Hennepin County. Eight miles from downtown Minneapolis, community residents easily enjoy the coziness of small-town living and the culture of city life. Medicine Lake has a robust volunteer fire department and hosts several community activities each year. The city celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2004.
