What will the chamber of commerce look like in 10 years? More importantly what changes need to be made so that TwinWest is relevant today and 10 years from now?
The TwinWest Chamber Board of Directors, along with the Foundation and Political Action Committee (PAC) Boards met last week to tackle these questions and plan for the future.
Part of this process was reviewing the membership survey responses and discussing the feedback from you. Your responses molded the next steps as we discussed how to transform to the chamber of the future.
As we strive to move our strategy forward to grow membership and our regional presence, the top two areas of key focus will be:
1) Connections (networking) continue to be one of the most important membership items. However, we need to do it differently. Over the next couple months, we’ll have conducted an evaluation of our programming and implement changes.
2) A shortage of qualified workforce continues to be an almost universal issue in the business community. TwinWest is positioned well to bring together workforce leaders, government entities and business to bring solutions to this challenge. This will be an overarching initiative for the organization throughout the year and into the future.
Using our current resources of the foundation for financial support to Pre-K, high school and career path scholarships and government advocacy efforts to support initiatives that will strengthen the employee skills are two ways we’ll work on this issue.
Additionally we will need to partner with our friends in education, government and our members to identify specific issues and solutions.
Thank you for your feedback to the organization and your membership in the west metro chamber-TwinWest!
