Upcoming Hwy 169 improvements: Second open house set for Feb. 10You're invited to learn more about future improvements planned for Hwy 169 between Hwy 55 and Hwy 62 at an open house scheduled for Feb. 10.
The informal open house will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Hopkins High School (2400 Lindbergh Drive Minnetonka, MN 55305).
The Hwy 169 project has reached significant milestones since the first open house held in August 2015. In addition to meeting with stakeholders along Hwy 169, project staff has been working on preliminary design and an environmental review of the projects. Here are a few of the key updates that will be highlighted at the upcoming open house:
- The bridge over Nine Mile Creek in Hopkins, Minnetonka and Edina will be reconstructed as a causeway, which is a raised road across a low or wet ground.
- The St. Louis Park city council voted in support of closing the sub-standard W. 16th Street ramps on southbound Hwy 169.
- The official detour during the closure of Hwy 169 has been determined and preliminary plans for construction staging are available.
Open house attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the project, construction staging timeline, and project schedule. Representatives from MnDOT and project staff will be on hand to answer questions.
