We know you, as employers are struggling to attract and retain talent, and that there are increasing pressures on your time.
We at TwinWest, are committed to developing and retaining a skilled K-12 talent pipeline for our region but we can’t do this without you! In response to our region’s urgent talent needs, we are launching Opportunity Connect, which will leverage a new technology platform to seamlessly connect and support business, education and students/families with career connected learning experiences.
Businesses will be able to:
• provide employees with skills-based opportunities that support professional development and talent retention
• attract and develop a talent pipeline
• leverage young people’s innovative, diverse ideas
30 minutes - 1 hour
Afford a student a 30 minute constructive interview to learn about a chosen career and ask one-on-one questions.
3 - 4 hours
Allow students to visit a business professional on-site to observe a typical day – approximately three to four hours. Job shadows provide students with a glimpse into the life of a chosen career.
Provide a student with a 30 minute constructive interview experience. Typically better suited for senior-level students.
Provide students with a hands-on learning, either paid or unpaid, experience in a work environment. Internships are typically supervised by the school and traditionally are setup for several weeks, such as a semester or summer break.

COMPANY SITE VISITS

Provide a meaningful and engaging tour of your facility so students get a hands-on visit with a business.
TEACHER IN THE WORKPLACE
3 hours - 3 days, Varies
Teachers immerse into four different area companies within an industry (i.e. healthcare, manufacturing, finance, business development) for three days in early August. The instructors learn how to better align coursework with the job and career skills needed in the TwinWest area.
